Dark souls III - Main theme Lyrics (Latin-English)

I couldn't find a video combining the lyrics with the music, so I decided to put one together. Keep in mind that the deviation between translations of this theme seems to vary greatly, and the interpretation changes from person to person. Take this translation with a grain of salt, but either way, it's still interesting to hear.

I'll admit, the one thing that Elden Ring is missing for me is tracks with crazy gothic Latin chorus like this. Different overall vibe from the Dark Souls games, I know, but still it's definitely something I find myself missing in my adventures through the Lands Between

Here's my interpretation of this theme's lyrics.
The first half of the lyrics commends the current god for being strong and resisting their inevitable corruption/downfall for so long .
Midway, the lyrics describe the staggering mundaneness of the god's life that has taken its toll as they grow feeble and lack their initial strength (/determination). Then the lyrics encourage the weakened god to step down and merge back into the source (the Sun) as we witness the new god (us players) prepare to replace them and take charge.

This theme is literally hyping us players up to prepare ourselves (through hardship) to become the next god because the current god (no matter how strong they were in the beginning) is at their life's end and the world desperately needs a new one.

I remember when I started ds3 got to the title screen and hear this music. Instead of pressing anything I put my controller down and just close my eyes to listen. On 1:29 mark I got goosebumps and ngl teary eye. I swear fromsoft is legendary in both music and gameplay.

This is all fanmade. The composers confirmed on Twitter all Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3 lyrics are not in Latin and mean nothing. I show their tweets in the video in which I break down Godrick lyrics, which are gibberish just like 99% of Elden Ring song lyrics. I have a college degree in Latin by the way.

The title song for Dark Souls 3, in the way I thought of it, is just the way of the game telling you, "Hey you! When you start, you're gonna be thrown into an adventure full of mystery, horror, annoyance, and unsurprisingly die many, many, many times. But it isn't too hard to where you break something. It's hard enough to when you finish a challenge, you're going to be so satisfied." If that doesn't say enough about the game, and what it has to offer, I don't know what does
