I really enjoyed making this video. It gave me an opportunity to remind myself the basics of diabetic foot care (and realize I do not always follow all these recommendations which I plan on improving on). I hope it will inspire some of you to ftake better care of your body and improve your diabetes management.

I’m a T1D for the past 33 years and can’t express how important this video is. You don’t want to end up like me with Charcot Foot disease. Great job 👏

My sister, a type 1, got an infection in her foot. She didn't check her feet everyday. Her infection spread up her leg and they had to amputate at the knee of her right leg. She passed away many years ago but i hope her lesson will help somebody. I check mine everyday. I wear heatholders extra long warm socks 24/7, and would recommend.... and yes even to bed. I would shower with them on if i could.

I can attest to this..got a small wound on a toe in 2019, infected but treated with antibiotic for a long time, silver etc and I didnt have to amputate. Still struggling with scar tissue. Neuropathy in both feets after 37 yrs with type1. Not feeling anything, and the worst is the tingeling and movement at night witch holds me awake forever..disabled now because of this. Thank you for another good video.

It's important to know that you need to take care of your feet as a diabetic.
I'm having issues with my feet since some years now and solved it with special shoe soles and, I was surprised myself, the normal Skechers-Shoes. They're great for my feet and help me to be able to walk long distances without facing hurt and issues.

Thanks for your video, mate and best regards from Germany! :)

Type 1 here and my left foot always feels cold and tingly. I find myself dragging it all the time at work. Just got my A1C results back and I’m at 6.4. 2 years ago I was 12.8. No matter what I do my left foot always feels like it asleep. Dr. Says my circulation is good. Is there anything I can do to get my foot feeling normal again? Even sitting here relaxed it feels numb, cold and tingly.

Hello, after 50 years with type 1 diabetes I still have no problems with diabetic feet but always had very dry skin on the ankles and lower legs. My diabetologist recommended "Allpresan diabetic" to me. This foam cream for very dry to cracked skin helped me a lot. The cream is available in Germany, whether it is also sold internationally, I do not know.

I feel like the whole " if you step on something sharp you won't feel it" is subjective. I feel like you can go barefoot on hard floors because you won't get hurt that often. I feel like every diabetic is different.

Do you have any thoughts on using acetyl-L-carnitine for improving diabetic neuropathy?

I also use a cell phone camera, Video or Still shots to examine my feet.

I also use, Near Infrared Light on my feet. I've healed wounds and minor infections with one day by applying this method. And no, I don't mean the light which shows red meams, Near ifrared light light cannot be seen, and is applyed for no longer than 16 min.

Of course I use the same method for treating any kind of wound on the body. As I said before, I'm a 73 year old who has had Dibetis for 69 years.
