Subbing up now!!! I had all but forgotten how much I LOVE the stories that get featured on "CBS Sunday then this little gem showed up online. OHHhhhh!!! WHAT a story!!! With horses (as with dogs) I LOVE it when actual working and/or family pets become CHAMPIONS in their breeds and skills categories. So neat that this horse had the opportunity to "show 'em all" what he was made of!!! I have to say, though....that IMO: these parents are the real champions: to have raised such a well-balanced daughter....and to have had the wisdom to help her along with her dreams.
CONGRATS TO ALL!!!

I looked up this horses pedigree. I'm not very familiar with Standardbred but I would hardly consider this horse from poor breeding stock. His sire won $260000 in his career and dam won $123000 in her career. Comparing to other horses its in the lower end of average but still average. The grandsire of this horse won over in his career. The sire and dam of this horse were older 12 and 14 when this horse was foaled which could account for the cheaper cost to breed. Still an amazing story though.

Amidst all the recent fuss about racehorse deaths, a happy note on this story:
*Breana graduated connersville high school, Indiana last week…* is as much of an inspiration to me, racing fan, as Cody’s wish is…
