It works with (f(x)/g(x)) =(f'(x)g(x)-g'(x)f(x))/g²(x) as well, but nice to know I can simply convert to a negative power and use the much simpler formula

My biggest mistake in calculus was taking calc I in the spring and having to come back at the end of a very full summer to that chapter that mixes special case derivatives and integrals. I woulda been fine if the derivatives and integrals had been separate, or if I'd had a little time to warm up.

Would there be a function of some sort, where the power rule derivation result is equal to the quotient derivation result? Not sure how to put this in a mathematical notation but maybe something like: f'(x) = 1/f'(x) ? Hope i made this right

Or you can use the quotient rule but that’s the longer method.

I just thought of doing it by the quotient rule . Square the bottom so x^6 is the bottom than the bottom times derivative of 1 which is zero - 1 times the derivative of the bottom which is 3x^2 so before simplifying the fraction is -3x^2/x^6 =-3/x^4
