I am grateful for the lessons and inspiration. I am a 63 year old stroke survivor. I gave up guitar 35 years ago ( kids in diapers etc ) , I gave my guitars to my son when he was a teen ( now 35 ) . Recently my kids gave me a Les Paul and a nice Yamaha acoustic, they strongly urged me to revisit my love of guitar as part therapy, recreation. Reluctantly I agreed knowing the struggle is real . After developing callouses I discovered You “ Marty Music “ . My daily regimen of playing at least an hour and your lessons /inspiration has resulted in incredible progress.

Hey Marty, I just turned 60 and have been playing for 8 months. Well about 20 years ago, I tried for about 4 months but my teacher stunk so I quit. Your lessons are awesome. I learned these turnarounds from John Cephas in early 80's. One of my favorite variations, that has an errie delta-like Skip James sound, is on the turnaround using your index/ring finger and leaving the b-string open as a drone, you hammer on/off with your ring finger as you go down the turnaround. Straight from the delta swamp sounds, ... RIP Skip James and John Cephas!!
