This can even happen on newer tech too! If the case is coming apart, and has resistance with a *gentle* squeeze, its fairly safe to assume the battery has pillowed, and the advice in the video should be followed :)

(Also if you wanna prevent this, unplug your device as soon as you notice it reaches %100, this also helps with battery life, as overcharging can affect the batteries ability to hold charge too)

That iPod is a classic so it's relatively easy to replace the battery, it's the nanos on the other hand that you should be scared of.

If you can see the battery cycles, how many times the device has been charged, or the amount the battery will charge to at max capacity, those are things to ask or look for in the description for when buying old electronics!

This usually happens on ipod nanos. The only good nanos to collect are the 1st and 3rd gen. 1zt gen is kinda expenive but repairable and the 3rd gen is extremley unlikley to get that. Othet ones are hard af to repair and when you get a spicy pillow there THROW IT AWAY IMMEDIATLEY

I only see a few of these on classics. Rarely see them on 6th or 7th gen nano’s, but every generation prior to the 6th gen nano is basically a bomb now, there’s simply no room inside

Ok but why does it happen? I changed my phone a couple of years ago because my old one was having issues with some controls. After a year or so of not using it and keeping it off I noticed that the battery had started expanding. Fast forward to today it literally looks like a overfilled balloon ready to explode and I have no idea why it happened. Like it started happening when I stopped using it and it got worse ever since! Why?
