I guess it's all about the tuning and which drumheads you are using, didn't like it at all here but at other video I did. :p

I read a lot of the comments on various kits and they often have people complaining about the cardboard sounding toms. The last review before going to this one was on the Pearl Masters Maple Reserve where one guy said the toms have a cardboard sound and suggested everyone listen to the DW's which where supposed to be so much better. Well, both kits have the same Evans G1 coated batters and sound very much alike. So, it is not that the drums are crap, it is matter of tuning and head selection. This is a great channel and Patrick is a great drummer but he tunes every kit the same and thus they all sound pretty much the same. I suggest that if you are looking for reviews on any drum kit, look at reviews from many sources to get different perspectives, different miking, different tuning, different batter heads etc, then make your choice. Ok, I'm done my rant. Groove responsibly as Beatdown Brown would say!

Patrick Bennek must be the best drummer for showcasing drums, he's versatile af and is very flexible. Amazing drummer
