I’ll wait for the official Ally 2. The X just doesn’t seem big enough of an upgrade based on what I’m seeing here. But I can see the X being a great option for those that don’t already own an Ally Z1E.

MSRP difference is $650 vs $800. But reality is the retailers are now clearing out the OG's to the point the Ally Z1Extreme was only $500. That is a $300 (40%) price difference to the Ally X. That's an entirely different category now....at those prices the original Ally is close to a Switch, while the Ally X is close to decent 1440p laptops and desktops.

Seems a better machine (mainly with battery life) if you are buying a first unit but not sure there is enough actual gaming performance improvement to justify upgrading if you already have an Ally. Cannot be sure as I have the Ayaneo Geek and legion Go so never tried the Ally personally

It’s strange I find the steam deck extremely uncomfortable my wrists start to hurt especially when using it while laying in bed almost unbearably so but now with the Rog ally X I have yet to have that issue

Thanks for the video! Is it possible to allocate more than 8 GB of VRAM on the ROG Ally, like 10 GB, or is 8 GB the maximum allowed?

My ally is R9 iteration made April this year if not later I think(with fixed SD slot they told nobody about but didn't fix😂) so will have same display as ally x I most definitely cannot justify 800 dollars I paid 450 for my original ally brand new sealed extreme version wouldn't of even bought standard z1 model 😂 well maybe if I just wanted play doom and quake but not anything else but got my rg cube with 1:1 display for that 😂😂😂

well look at that 95% of the performance for like half the price im canadian. and in canada thr ROG ALLY X is $1099.99 BEFORE TAX!!!. i bought my ROG ALLY Z1X For $666.99 AFTER TAX!!! I JUST DON'T SEE THE APPEAL! LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS...Ur getting 2-8 fps increase at 40-70 FPS usually 2-4 fps ON AVERAGE not worth the doubled price tag, now ram 16 vs 24 gb, i can play every game the rog ally x can again 2-8 fps less on average ya wont notice in game. now for the BIG CHANGE! THE BATTERY... YA its DOUBLED FROM 40wh to 80wh seems GREAT cept its MORE RESTRICTING! With the ROG ALLY Z1E I can just add a battery bank and bam battery doubled or more and if i wanna use it say with my phoone to charge that i can use it for that too the ALLY X cant!!! NOW THE HUGE CHANGE! USB4! Yes it's easier and somewhat cheaper to go this route for a egpu And this is a big XG Mobile RTX 4090 on the Z1E out preforms a DESKTOP RTX 4090! HOW ya might ask, well its pretty simple, BANDWITH! USB 4 SUCKS FOR BANDWITH XG Mobile has more band width and i can keep going on how the ROG ALLY X is actually a DOWNGRADE I think u get the picture. Good video tho, CHERRY PICKED! But still not bad.
