2019 iPad Pro Impressions: Incredibly Thin!

How important is thinness really at this point? These look incredible, but they spend so much time emphasizing thinness only to then offer bulky cases to add more functionality and protection.

(And I say this as a MASSIVE fan of the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil)

This is the iPad I’m using right now. Hard to believe it’s almost 4 years old. Still feels incredibly fast and snappy. I’m really happy that I went with the Pro instead of getting the Air. I plan on stretching this out for another year or two or until the next big hardware innovation comes.

Only flaw I see (besides the price) is the camera bump especially for artists or students or whoever trying to draw or write on a flat table

USB C is really the most compelling new feature. Only made better if it had 2 ports instead of one.

As a DJ who uses the iPad to mix on the fly sometimes, I can say the removal of the headphone jack is a HUGE mistake. In the DJ market there is NO replacement for wired audio. At a party, you absolutely can not rely on wireless audio. It’s too finicky and the latency is terrible. Try connecting a wireless audio source to a mixer and see what happens I guess I’m going to stick with my iPad Pro 10.5 until the end

I think you've missed a major point on how important the iPad pro having a usb C port is. The main thing about not having a headphone jack is an adaptor, or usb C headphones. Which usually come in the box. Apple making this switch means that there is going to be a larger consumer base for usb C headphones. So if you're a diehard android fan (Like me) without a headphone jack, we might be seeing better quality usb C headphones. Maybe the switch to one port won't be as bad after all.

Edit: You can say what you like about apple. A lot I agree with but I personally disagree with removing the headphone jack being "A money grab" What it's really pushing us toward is a word without wires. In a couple years time with your phone being wireless and never having to plug things in again, I think I'll be glad decisions like this were made. To push the industry forward apple have always been the people to make big decisions like that. They have the fanbase to do so. I think quite a few android companies are happy when apple makes decisions like this. Because they can follow suit without a major dip in there fanbase like they would if they were going to make a large change on there own.
