I’ve been low carb since 1999. Went to the dentist last fall - my third visit in 24 yrs. Zero cavities, zero gum disease, zero problems. It’s the meat based diet that saves your oral microbiome and therefore your oral health.

I couldn’t get rid of my gum disease until I went carnivore. I told my dentist that I stopped eating plants and my gums stopped bleeding and they thought I was delusional.

I'm a dental assistant, been working in dental offices across the nation since 1984, assisted for and had many in depth conversations about oral health with literally hundreds of dentists, have taken many continuing education courses on the subject of oral health and I can tell you that the doctor here is correct, it's literally our diet...and they know it...

A lot of dentists probably will hate you for this, Shawn. Rock on!

True story. I'm a hygienist and my patients with the worst oral health are in the worst shape metabolically. Chronic disease, obesity, auto-immune conditions, etc. And going carnivore has changed how I treat patients. It's always been a focus on brushing, flossing (well you must not be doing a good job if you still have issues) but now I talk so much more about diet.

After over 60 years of tender bleeding gums, achy loose and sensitive teeth, now, after 5 years of Keto/Carnivore, my gums are pink, don't bleed, teeth are tight and hot and cold no longer bother me. My dental hygienist couldn't understand how cutting out processed and high carb foods could have made such an improvement.

The dental industry will never teach this because it means they'd be out of a job.

Great video Doc, thanks 😀 Went to a restaurant for the first time since starting carnivore. Ordered a big slab of prime rib and a baked potato with extra butter and told them to hold the potato. I think I freaked the waiter out 😂😂😂

Have absolutely zero issues now with tooth and gum problems. In fact I've had two quite large tooth caries completely remineralise (lower jaw first molars, both sides, inner edge along gumline). All thanks to carnivore as well as supplementing D3 and K2 and drinking lots of kefir and lactobacillus reuteri.

Retired now but I practiced periodontics for 41 years. Thank you for posting this. Lastly diabetes and pre diabetes basically destroys periodontal health. I am grateful for what you do. Carnivore has improved my long COVID brain fog.

Would be great to investigate some approaches for people who already are dealing with various stages of tooth decay. Prevention is best but that ship has sailed for many

Good reminder doc. I got slack about my dental hygiene. Fortunately my dentist kept at me until I went in for a clean. Fortunately no cavities but got a lecture about gum health and overall health and some tips to get it back.

As a lady who is almost 63 now, my dentist is amazed at how healthy my gums and teeth are and has commented so many times about it when I have my teeth cleaned. He said it's very rare for someone my age and that 4 out of five people my age have gum disease.

Since I went low carb/carnivore I went from brushing my teeth twice a day to once a day since I wasn't exposed to sugars. Haven't had any issues. I do brush my teeth with iodine, salt, baking soda, peppermint and oregano oil mixed with water sure that helps too.

I’ve been preaching this for 30 years as a dentist! We did blame “bad genes” too often but it’s now improper human diet.

What you were saying around the 1:50 mark is exactly what my dentist told me. You're also constantly swallowing that bacteria if you have decay in your mouth. He also told me of a case of an abscessed tooth that took a patient septic. All that bacteria just seems inflammatory too. Fix your cavities people; and if you have a bad tooth get it pulled or get a root canal

Step 1... don't use toothpaste or mouthwash that has fluoride in it, avoid fluoride at all cost!

I like the format of this Dr Baker video better than many of his videos that I've viewed recently. In some prior videos the visuals changed too frequently and quickly and had many unnecessary and distracting sounds. That made the videos more difficult to watch.

In this video --- No music was played while Dr Baker was speaking - that I could detect. This video switched from Dr Baker being visible to a full screen photo or video clip of something else - while Dr Baker was speaking. And when text (or an image) was shown on the same screen while Dr Baker was visible, the text (or image) was off to one side. I would like a very short summary of the main points as text at the very end of the video. Just as an example, I like the format of Dr. Sten Ekberg's newer videos.
