I made myself a tool for holding the pulley when removing the fan. Makes life easier. Also worth noting, run your eye over the tensioner when your in there - I've seen across the various forums that they are prone to failure (mine failed many years ago as well) at the tensioner spring and the two halves try to split from each other

Another great informative video. One piece if advice, from experience, to everyone working next to the radiator, put a piece of cardboard or thin plywood in front of the radiator. One small slip of a wrench or tool and your radiator is punctured. I keep a piece of thick cardboard cut to cover the radiator on the shelf in my garage. Ended up having to replace my radiator last year🤬

hey mate great video again.. i take my hat off to you for doing that type of work to your discovery, i couldn't do stuff like that just in case i do something wrong lol but i have had all new belts plus the upgraded oil pump fitted. shame as it would save me thousands of £ pounds in garage prices.. i definitely like the sound of the other work you got coming for you Disco

Great work mate, I own the same model (with EAS), colour, even down to the black powder coated factory rims. This is my third Disco 3 and your vids are gold it terms of gaining knowledge to do more involved mechanical work on my rig. I live in SW WA. Our twin cars may pass each other one day.

Hey @outbackdiscovery. Very helpful content for a fellow D3 owner. Iv just replaced my serpentine belt after watching this and get a bit of belt squeal on startup. The belt that came off is a 8pk2093 so I wondered if the idler is adjustable at all to account for the small amount extra length? There doesn’t look like much wrap around the fan pulley on mine.

Maybe mention engine type and size? In the title preferably. The truck comes with three different engines worldwide.

It's better to place a rag in the air intake after removing the pipe !
