Follow Actions for Scenes in Ableton Live - Follow Scene XL ADVANCED V1 0 1

This video was created to answer a support request on. how our MaxforLive Device Follow can be used to create automatic follow actions that trigger scenes in Ableton Live.

In it we'll show how to use some of the more advanced features of the device including how to use clip automation to change the follow action for a single clip so that it selects the next scene ready to play after an interval.

We also demonstrate how you can use clip names to give dynamic choices of what scene will play next that can be triggered via MIDI, the IOS app Mira or even via another computer connected to the internet using the wonderful MIRAWeb from Cycling 74.

Rough to see all of the comments just complaining about this device and video when this tool was built for specific uses and this video clearly states its for advanced users that already understand the basics.

Just seeing this update now and are super grateful for these updated from Follow Five Scene Five! Just out of curiosity...is there a simply comparison chart of features between Follow Scene XL and Follow SCENE FIVE?

Really loving this device at the moment. Just wondering though, is there any way that I can exclude certain track(s) (and clips within them) from being launched with the follow action?


I'd like to have a track or two with loops that can be fired as one-shots etc. So I don't want them to be triggered automatically

I can't set up a websocket connection. Is it required to have MIRA installed on the computer you're using for Ableton Live?

Neat but looks too complicated. Would love if someone made something more simple like the mpc song mode

I think the Module is powerful, but I dont understand what it really does. I remember a few years ago there were more simple and short explainings what the tools did.

Sorry to complicated even for a Bachelor of Engineering. In the ASK training from Stray Cypx he is using simple two tracks and type commands and you can see what is happening. Your 350 tracks (for a DJ set one will use Serato and Pioneer hardware ) is making thinks overcomplicated. Follow scene XL is on my PC but will use it only to go to next scene

you started the story in the middle of it. You should have gone thru a proper basic set up first to make this work as this looks complicated as feck to make work. If you see this, do another video that starts at the start and brings us to something that works.
