Black diamonds are very rare and have an added mystery to them, particularly since they are believed to have come from outer space. One theory is that 3.8 billion years ago, they were created by a supernova. Then, a large deposit was sent drifting through space and fell on Earth, as a meteorite, about 2.3 billion years ago. It possibly got fragmented upon entry into the atmosphere and landed in what would become Brazil and the Central African Republic, the only known black diamond deposits. The truth is nobody knows for sure how black diamonds appeared. Also

Diamonds are not the most valuable stone. Rainbow Lattice Sunstone(Feldspar species), Black Opal/Black Crystal Opal, Jeremejevite, Red Beryl, Cats eye Taffeite, Cats Eye Emerald, the list goes on and on and on. Diamonds are so fucking overrated it honestly bothers me at this point, lol. I would take a translucent almost see-through 20 carat Star Ruby or Star Sapphire of ANY color over a 10 carat white diamond anyday.
