Where the hell do you get this information from? As a jeweller this is BS. Minerals are sold at different prices due to different qualities of clarity, cut, karat and colour. Jadeite can be cheap or expensive just like a diamond, sapphire and Pearl.

For example; a diamond that is a half a karat might cost more than a 1 karat diamond. Due to the fact that the half karat diamond has better clarity, colour and cut.

Another example; fake pearls can cost more than real pearls due to the poor quality of the real pearls. If you buy fake pearls from Cartier or whatever high end costume jewelry brand, the value might be more than a low quality Pearl.

A $1 million dollar diamond is equivalent to a 10 or 11 karat diamond or more perhaps, maybe even less.
