The power of forgiveness. I couldn't help but have tears in my eyes as I watched this cause I know how hard it was for both sides, but for the dad to say" I forgive you"to the person who was responsible for unintentionally taking his son away forever is tough.

Finally, parents who don’t blame everything on everyone but their children. This was both parties fault, and the parents are strong enough to not let grief, convince them otherwise. What great people.

Him forgiving her had to hurt her in a way because it's the most unlikely reaction you will ever get in this situation. You killed his son and he has the strength to forgive you and wish you well

What a tragedy for both families. I am so glad the father understood that.
RIP Chris.

The way the guy in the brown suit bowed his head the second the dad said to her "you are forgiven." WOW. that hit home. Prayers for everyone touched by Christopher's loss 🙏🏻

So if she never fled the scene of the accident, she wouldn’t have even been prosecuted.

sometimes forgiveness is better than revenge because we all make mistakes in life

You don't go to prison or get in trouble for accidently hitting someone or harming them if you are sober. Help the person.

So powerful I felt dad's pain knowing nothing I could do to take away the pain and I praise the Lord for his expressing FORGIVENESS I do not judge the young lady as I struck a pedestrian as well yes I stayed and yes the pedestrian survived however it is a very stressful situation

A true Christian. And really, that’s a big part of Christianity is to love your enemies, which is sooo difficult to do. To not hate those who did you wrong. Hence why many in the world hate Christians, for they are not strong enough to forgive and not hate.

I feel bad for the man and his wife who lost their son, I pray that God watches over them and gives them comfort. And for Lauren, I pray that she has a better life and makes good choices.

How can you call yourself a Christian or follower of Jesus and not forgive?
Even though I thought I was a Christian and follower of our Lord, when tragedy and betrayal struck my life it took years to forgive. To truly forgive in my heart. 19 years to be exact. Forgiveness is the tallest order.
This Father and Pastor who lost his son is leading by example. Yet I cannot imagine his unbearable pain.

Well done to that pastor… she was young and made a huge mistake just like his son. I have never been so proud of a stronger before. WOW. Most people would’ve handled this totally different amazing pastor whoever u are ❤️❤️

Such a unfair ruling here. She got off to easily! Why isn’t she charged with a hit and run?! Why isn’t she charged and serving time for taking away someone’s innocent life it don’t matter if the parents forgave her she still has to pay for the pain and suffering she caused. This really irritates me who is this stupid judge? Smh this is really sad and unfair hope she karma eats her slowly so she can feel every inch of the pain.
