I am Jewish and lived in Israel a while back. I had plenty of Arab buddies. We made music together and hung out. Some of them were Israeli Arab citizens. All of us had free health care. None of us wanted to be terrorist targets. One day Rehov Ben Yehuda, the main drag in New Jerusalem blew up. Suicide bombers. I was there. It was bad. These kind of attacks were happening there a lot at the time. Most people in Israel want to live together in peace. Its the troublemakers, like Hamas, who want to gut the place and turn it into a caliphate. iIs got nothing to do with race. It's about democracy vs. theocracy. Sure, the hardline jews want to stop the busses running on Shabbat in Jewish neighborhoods and such. But they don't kill your grandmother over it. The argue for it in the Knesset and in court. It's safer that way, don't you think? If the Caliphate (Hamas, etc.) took over they would steal my guitar, forbid women to go to school or work, or go out unaccompanied by a man, and then kill me. Not in that order. Hey, it's not what Abraham had in mind, folks, and I'm afraid he was there long before islam. In fact, he IS thier ancestor.

I have so much empathy for the innocent women and children who are being killed and live within gaza, at the same time as I condemn hamas and stand up for israel as my homeland and the homeland of all jews. Mark Twain a well-known historical writer and philosopher visited Palestine in 1869. He described the land as a desolate land not occupied by millions of Arabs who are calling themselves Palestinsinas. He saw a synagogue there and wrote his statements marveling at the Jews and how they survived every civilisation and never changed. Why doesn’t anyone quote his comments? Did he also not exit in the new version of history you have been sold?

Around 900, 000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries between 1948 and 1970 with most of them losing their property and their wealth in the process. My father was one of them. He had to flee Tunisia and move to France when the Arabs revolted and attacked the Jewish and French living there. They left behind a very prosperous Jewelry business as well as their home which the Arabs took over illegally. They never got a cent back from Tunisia since that time. So as you can see, there were far more Jewish refugees than Palestinian ones since 1948 but with one big difference: Jews worked hard and prospered wherever they went while Palestinians still claim their refugee status and ask for hand outs from world governments.

She is absolutely correct, but left out a - well, not amusing, but heavily ironic fact: at 1:26 she mentions that the Israelites had lived on the land for millennia, until the Muslim Conquest in the 7th Century, when the land was Arabised and Islamised.
The fact she left out was that EXACTLY THE SAME TIME, her own people, the Iranian peoples, principally the Persians, were "colonised" in exactly the same way. The Buddhists in what is now Afghanistan also had a particularly rough time of it.
The late 7th C was a pretty awful time for anybody who got in the way of the conquering Muslims.

Keep in absolute mind that when she mentions 1917 being the year of the first Palestinian passport (05:37), what she means (but perhaps forgot to mention) is that it was the first _British_ Palestinian passport. Palestine at that time was just the name for the area, and so when the Brits got mandate for the area as part of the League of Nations, they named it.... British Mandate for Palestine. The official languages were English (new kid on the block thinking he's hot stuff), Hebrew (the.. frozen sperm-bank baby-son of Biblical Hebrew?), and Arabic (specifically Levantine Arabic).

As an Israeli, I have to say that it's not all entirely accurate, but it is, nevertheless, one of the most fair-minded and informative summaries of the conflict that I have come across on the web in a very long time, by far. This young woman has done her research. I also appreciate the fact that she has kept "God" out of it.

You didn’t mention that:

- The 750000 displaced were because they were told by their Arab neighbors to get out till the Jews are eliminated. Unfortunately, they themselves were.
- “Palestine” was a desolate wasteland. It is the Jews that reinvigorated it. The Arabs came to settle here both under British and Israeli rule. Even people from Gaza work in the millions in Israel … which was a terrible idea because now we know what happens when you try to pacify terrorists. Most of the land they talk about were actually SOLD. Arabs/Muslims are some pieces of work.
