A senior Iranian cleric claimed that around 50,000 of Iran's 75,000 mosques are closed, showing the declining numbers of Iranians attending. On June 1, Mohammad Abolghassem Doulabi, who serves as the liaison between Ebrahim Raisi’s govt and Iran's seminaries, made such claims.

There is something in Iranian culture known as GHAHR, meaning ignoring someone as if that person does not even exist. This is often done among family or friends. It is a very hard experience for the person who is being ignored! Iranian public seems to be in GHAHR with Islam and this would be extremely hard and dangerous for the ruling Islamic government. Because Islam is the only justification they have to stay in power.
