Disappointed they didn’t put the classical southern yet Elegant “Nana”. That word speaks home cooked meals.

I call my grandmother ‘Darling’ because when I was a baby she called me darling and I repeated it back to her. All her friends are jealous 😄

I'm an aunty, not a grandma, and my little nephews call me "Beep Beep."

When you're the first grandchild in the family: "Reality can be whatever I want"

My mom decided that her grandma name will be Lolly and my dad’s grandpa name will be Pop, so they’ll be Lolly and Pop and I just think that is so cute

I call my grandma “lita” as a shortened version of abuelita. When I was young I couldn’t pronounce the whole word, so I just said lita, now my whole family calls her that.

I named my grandma “mommy’s mom” because I needed a logical understanding of who she was even at 3 😂

My son couldn't say "Gramy" it came out "Bambi". And didn't grandma latch on to that one quick! Best way to become the favorite grandchild!

When my son was small he started calling my dad Bob. His name was Bryan and we had been calling him poppa and one day out of nowhere it was just Bob.

I started out being a “Grammy”, because that’s what we encouraged my grandson to call me... but then my granddaughter came along and decided that I am a “Mimi”, so that’s what I’ve been to everyone ever since!🙏❤️

I called my grandmother Mimi. Her first five grandkids just called her grandma. I don’t know why exactly, but us last ten grandkids always called her Mimi.

It’s easier when you have two grandmas that speak two different langauges.
No competition, no confusion, no problem

You’ll be called whatever the first grandkid decides to call you. Period. You don’t always get a choice. My two sisters and I all wanted to be Nana. The oldest one is Grammy, the middle one is Nee and I’m Granna. My granddaughters were 8 & 10 when they, and their dad, came into our lives.
The first time I met them, the K year old says: So, what are we gonna call you?
Me: How about Nana?
K: Nah. I don’t like it.
Me: Well then, come up with something else.
K: Okay, I will.
Fifteen minutes later she comes back.
K: I’ve got it!
Me: Lay it on me.
K: We’re gonna call you Granna cause it’s part Grandma and part Nana so it’s better!
And I’ve been Granna ever since. You can’t argue with 8-year old logic!. She’s now almost 18 and a senior in high school. Her sister is 19 and a freshman in college. All the grandkids who’ve come after have fallen in line and call me Granna.

My friend's southern grandmother had a typical grandmother name, until her eldest granddaughter started calling her "Honey" as a toddler. She asked her "Why are you calling me Honey?" My friend replied "Well, Grampa calls you Honey." Her grandmother was enchanted, and has been Honey ever since to all grandchildren. Even I call her Honey!

I'm form Poland and the word "Grandma" is translated as "Babcia", I used to call mine "Babcia kapcia" when I was younger, because I am extra.

My older cousin, for whatever reason, started calling our grandmother June’s mom (after my mom’s name June, her favorite aunt. In time we all (18 of us) came to call her Juniemom. She lived to 94. My mom, June, just celebrated her 100th birthday on June 29, 2020.

Look man y’all forgot Mawmaw and that’s a heinous offense. A Memaw and a Mawmaw are 2 completely different classes of grandmother.
