The Ford Bronco and the Jeep Wrangler are very similar when compared head-to-head. But which one would you rather live with?

There's really no mystery. The bronco has all the advantages you'd expect from independent front suspension and the Jeep has all the advantages you'd expect from a solid axle.

I went with the Sahara 4xe. I don't crawl rocks, but hit a lot of dirt trails around Las Vegas. The battery location of the 4xe gives it a much better center of gravity and I found it handled much better than a normal wrangler. The biggest drawback of the wrangler is highway noise so I use my other car for long road trips. The plug in hybrid was the clincher. I went 800 miles before needing to fill up my first month, and the under 6 seconds from 0-60 is a lot of fun.

I work at both a Ford and Jeep dealer. Both vehicles are amazing. Just got in a 392 Wrangler MSRP 81K!! Crazy. I purchased a Bronco because it will be a daily driver, definitely a better ride on road with more space. No wrong choice, enjoy your ride!!

If you got stuck in 4H and it was due to complete loss of traction (2 wheels in the air), switching to 4L would do nothing for you. The first option should’ve been sway bar because that would drop the wheel on the ground. The 2nd option is lockers and the 3rd (for completeness) is taking a different line. There’s literally no reason not to have sway bar disconnected all the time while off-roading. It re-engages automatically.

I purchased a 2021 Jeep Ecodiesel. I recently test drove a Bronco a couple of months back. I drive my wrangler as a daily business vehicle and it goes all of Michigan and northern Ohio. No issues with handling on the expressway, I think it is far better than most suggest as a stock vehicle. The Bronco is nice but glad I own a jeep and no interest in changing anytime soon!!

I chose the 4xe after testing both. Mileage is way better for my situation. I can operate pure electric all week long, by charging at home and at work. Plus got $8250 in tax credits which made it much cheaper than the bronco, especially in light of ford markups. The build quality of the jeep I feel is better but I could be wrong. I love the jeep community and the aftermarket support. Great video.

I’m a realtor in East TN so I have to be able to drive through and over everything! Snow, rain, rocks, mountains and paved roads. I drive a 2018 Jeep JLU manual transmission with a 2.5” lift and 35” tires. I don’t mind the noise, I invested in a $2500.00 amp and sound system. I know that I can get out of whatever I may get into and as a woman that gives me the kind of comfort that’s more important than the comfort the Bronco gives as a daily driver. So I think it depends on the person and what their needs are.

@14:30 is that a check engine light on the bronco?

Equivalent Jeep would be a V6 Extreme Recon with 35’s bigger tires makes huge difference and you guys know that, The comparison is somewhat Flawed.

One thing to note about the Bronco on the ziggaraut is that the Sas package decreases articulation. Be interested to see how a non-Sas badlands would've done.

The Broncos keep breaking tie rods when off-roading because they’re too small diameter. In fact, they’re on national back order right now. The steering racks have also had problems disengaging from the pinion shaft when off-roading leaving you with no steering control. The Bronco’s extra width is also a detriment on narrow trails. I’ll be keeping my Wrangler despite its highway road manner deficits.

Switching from 4hi to 4lo in that situation wasn't going to do anything. Your problem wasn't lack of torque or speed modulation, it was lack of traction, which 4lo does not increase.

Very comprehensive off-road tests with impressive results for both rigs.
But considering the majority of people who buy Broncos and Jeeps are the trendy mall-crawler type, perhaps you could do a follow up video which shows tests like which vehicle is easier to park in a crowded mall parking lot and which vehicle navigates a Starbucks drive-thru the easiest.

I don't find the handling of the 4xe on the road that bad at all. I just took my family on a road trip, almost 4 hours each way and had no complaints.

Really interested in the idea of a PHEV suv or pickup. Hopefully the tech continues to improve and makes way into more offerings.

I just replaced my 18 JL Unlimited 2.0t with the new Wrangler Rubicon 392... the 392 makes this a beast not only off road, but a rocket on road . 0-60 in 4 seconds and 13 sec quarter mile with 35's. Gotta love Jeep for making this INSANE and borderline dangerous Jeep. I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF IT!
