Hey there KL, can you tell me if with the M1 I can control the gimbal movement via the app? Use case: M1 on top of an inspection pole. Hope to control the mobile & gimbal via a screen/control sharing app at the base of the pole. need to use a mobile since the x3 does not have gps. Personally, I find it a MASSIVE benefit of the OM that the rear input can be used to connect a power bank. Feature really missing in the Osmo standard, but that's intended for the audio input, so.
I am trying the osmo mobile, and will be buying an M1 for my Osmo, so I can use my X5 Z-axis too. But yes, I will miss that a lot

I got. an dji osmo and an iPhone 7 Plus. I am thinking about buyin the m1 as an Upgrade but dont know if the filmic pro App is supported with the m1. Has anybody yet tested this combo. Thanks for your answeres!

Thanks for this review, now I can upgrade my osmo to be used with just my phone. I too was upset when the "mobile" was introduced shortly after buying the osmo. The osmo never really hit the mark for me, it's too bulky and complicated. Too many pieces for casual shooting.

i would buy the grip and the M1 separately 
so i can upgrade the gimbal in future 
i know its more expensive than the mobile alone but the fact that i can buy in future the Osmo+ or any newer future products is better
