Thank you. I am a disabled veteran with a tiny farm. My livestock help me mentally, but I do have to make repairs, as my hogs do tear things up, I build some things, and I want to be able to fabricate things. It had been about 25 years since I had shop class and VO-AG, so your channel is helping me re-hone my old skills. Some things I have to learn how to do differently as my left hand is mostly paralized, and I have many other issues, but farming just helps me a lot.

"I wouldn't be afraid of this process at all."

Thanks for adding that, seriously. It's one thing for an expert to demonstrate something, it's another one for them to instill reassurance of facility.

This gentleman is truly a gifted instructor. He is both concise and comprehensive in his description of the welding process wished I had of meet him 30 years ago !

Thanks for this, I just bought a FCAW and welded my mower deck after not having welded for 25 years. I thought I lost my touch when I saw the mess it made, but I'm glad to hear the FCAW just does that. Once all cleaned up, the weld looks decent. Cheers

One of the most calming explanations of using the flux cored welding process.
The clean up after is a really big surprise and shows beauty is not just skin deep.
The fumes can be a bit annoying indoors but this is where you can use that high speed fan to blow them away and keep cool without loosing weld quality.
Encouraging.

(0:41) "...it looks different, it sounds different...and...don't be scared of it...'cause you can make some quality welds that are structurally strong." Good advice!

Shared your video with an OSU (Ohio State) WE4001/7001 welding class. Thanks!

Hey mate, I know this was posted long ago. I just wanted to thank you, this really helped, I was ready to go back to stick and stay with what I knew. I had my setting on positive and my wields looked like bird shit. I appreciate you taking the time to show the right ways of doing things. Cheers mate.

There are so many welding videos out there and different opinions/preferences, but you Cut to the chase and explain it in an easy way for new welders to understand and I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos. Well done, thank you. 👌🏻👍🏻

Thank you, I haven't welded in 30 years and wanted to get one of these for around my shop. Wood prices are too high right now so we're going back to metal

Another fantastic video Bob. Wish I had you as an instructor. Everything you say and do is right to the point without needless babble. Most guys would have poo-poo'd this process and dismissed it out of hand when it does in fact have its advantages. Great for windy conditions outside, cheap (no gas needed) and can be used on dirty material. It is messy, makes a ton of smoke (advise you get a smoke hood or fan if using it indoors) and produces a lot of spatter but it does make good, sound welds on the cheap.

Thanks for the introduction to the flux core welding. I've been looking for an inexpensive way to weld for DIY projects and this technique looks like it will work for what I need.

Thank you for this video. Concise, to the point, really helped me out. Can't wait to use my titanium 125 flux core welder for the first time to fix up a gokart frame.

Thanks so much for putting this out - about to start a welding project with nothing but Youtube tutorials under my belt and I feel a lot more comfortable with the process now that you laid it out so succinctly.
