I would have reduced both fractions to work with smaller numbers.

there and other way, make it small to 1/2 + 1/3 = 3/6+ 2/6 = 5/6.

I homeschool my son. He tends to get tripped up reducing large numbers, so I always remind him to reduce his fractions before adding/multiplying them. This keeps the numbers smaller. That's what should've happened in the problem:
1/2 + 1/3 = 3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6

the BIBLE says in Proverbs 27:1 (KJV) Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. So please use your days wisely considering each and everyday to turn to GOD BEFORE it's too late if youre willing to be saved confess with your mouth that JESUS is LORD and believe in your heart that JESS DIED AND GOD raised up from the death after 3 days later, you will be saved. And also remember That Jesus said that for you to follow HIM you have to deny yourself and following, without doing so, you're not HIS follower.GOD bless you and please share if you can by copying this AMEN

I would have done half of "9" + 3/9... So (4.5/9) + 3/9 = 7.5/9 x 2 = 15/18 divided by 3 = 5/6...

Though idk if my method is correct

Orrr, you could be modern and civilised and use decimals rather than old fashioned fractions. One day USA will catch up with rest of the world.
