Hi, I just recently rented out master bedroom to a lady that seems sweet. However her little dog has separation anxiety and wakes me up every morning by his barking. We work different shifts. Tonight I come home and shes put out a lamp and pictures of her kids in my living room and the flower pots that I had there are gone. While that in itself isn't a big deal, I feel like if I don't say something she's gonna take over the whole house. I'm renting her a room, the biggest room in the house. Feel like her personal items should be there.She is welcome to use the common areas. Any suggestions as to how to approach this? I'd like to keep it positive. Thanks.

I've never lived with roomates before. I did not know about the roommates and their backgrounds before I moved in March. I did meet them. One a woman who has been incarcerated several times is very controlling of the kitchen. And someone told me that because of their confined space in prison and that's their cell they live in, they could be very controlling of their space. She leaves no room for me to cook and is annoyed when I'm in the kitchen. She's constantly complaining. Yesterday she said somebody turned down the thermostat on the refrigerator. I didn't even know where the thermostat was. But she did overload the refrigerator and I said if you overload the refrigerator the lack of air flow will ice up the food. As she was complaining the eggs were frozen. I just moved in and it's complaining non-stop with her. The owner doesn't have beef with me but I am ready to move out unfortunately because of this roomates negativity and bad behavior. How would you handle this situation?

mine had the house super clean to show me before I moved in. As soon as I moved in, she started having moldy food in the fridge, dirty dishes piled up in both of the sink, treated me with disrespect and hostility, and moved out because I dared to confront her, leaving me to be responsible for the whole rent and bills, though originally she told me she was gonna be here for many years, or at least December this year. I'm still recovering from the shock. Today I found moldy coffee filter in the coffee maker she left behind, even though I clearly told her I didn't want it. I don't know why this is all happening to me. I thought I was a nice, clean, and friendly person that everybody liked

Advice for living with multiple roommates that never clean? When we moved in we didn't set standards. But I'm not kidding they never vaccum or mop. There is moldy food, etc. How would I go about having them help? I've asked and they don't do anything

Not agree, there must be order, set a day for laundry to each roommate, if you’re going to be “flexible” then it’s going to be a mess due a lot of ppl nowadays feel entitled so easily, there’s ppl that goes to work at 5:00am, why he should wait till other roommate that is jobless at home all day finish using the washer/drier

Oh my gosh! Get out of the F bathroom!! Three girls to one bathroom and we have one roommate who constantly commandeers the bathroom for at least an hour or more when taking a shower. Of course this happens either late at night or early in the morning when people also want to grab a shower or worse, people need to go to the bathroom!! Soooo F frustrating!!

Let’s also talk about roommates who never buy shared supplies like paper towels, trash bags, plastic wrap, etc. Don’t use those supplies if you’re not going to help buy more!! Nobody has the money to be paying for you too! If we had that kind of money, we wouldn’t be renting and dimming with others! Pay your own way and do your part!

Also, don’t hog the whole Dmnd refrigerator and kitchen!!
