Tutorial: Upgrade 12GB Super Slim PS3 HDD WITHOUT a caddy/bracket

Save yourself some money and avoid the harddrive! Today I'll show you how to install a bigger HDD in your Playstation 3 WITHOUT having to buy an expensive bracket. Use that saved money to get an even bigger hard drive!

Note: Don't blame me if you damage your machine. You'd have to do something really wrong in order for this not to work. I take no responsibility for anything you do to your system.

Thanks for this video. I just picked up a ps3 super slim with all cords and one controller for $15 knowing I had a spare 500gb hdd that I could fit and was surprised to find out that there was no hdd caddy but thought there must’ve been an alternative to fitting the hdd without the caddy.

Will the hard drive come away from the sata connection as there's a gap between the hard drive cover it could come away I used a pice of metal I screwed it in and it's shaped like a L shape with holes this clamps the hard drive so it will not move back our of the sata connections.. I think Sony are greedy they could have placed a cady in all there ps3 supper slims.
