You need to here the "The Promised Consort" which was releasted recently with the new dlc. Beautiful peace. Mogh Lord of Blood, Regal Ancestor Spirit, God-Devouring Serpeant, Malenia Blade of Miquella, The Final Battle, Ending, Opening and ofc the titel track are all amazing tracks that you should listen to.

Man i hope he reacts to midra as well. It's from the same composer!
(to add to this the choir from midra is one of the most unsettling things i've heard in fromsoft's history)

Now he HAS to do Dark Souls/Bloodborne. Gwyn Lord of Cinder and Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls 1 and 3 are amazing. They are Connected pieces. One is a somber piano piece and the other is a full orchestra that shares motifs. Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Eldin Ring have such MASSIVE orchestration, huge walls of sound. Amazing stuff.

You could do a whole series just on the boss soundtracks in the game...this game is nothing short of a masterpiece! Music, gameplay, world visuals are all 10/10

This track was composed by Shoi Miyazawa. Before the game and proper credits came out, a lot of people asumed the tracks were done by Kitamura since she did the majority of the OST for the previous two games from the developer, which is where the confusion might be coming from.

You should try "Midra: Lord of Frenzied Flame" boss theme from Elden Ring. Its among the best of the best!

"The Final Battle" and "Godskin Apostle" from Elden Ring are also amazing. Also a shoutout to "Lichdragon Fortissax". From the expansion "Divine Beast Dancing Lion" is probably the best with "The Lord of Frenzied Flame" and "The Promised Consort" not far behind.

What I love about this track is that the chorus while being harmonic and melodic, is really freaking chaotic, why? because it fits the character, Godrick is a king that practiced the Grafting kind of a ritual where one merge his body with others bodyparts, at the end Godrick have many implanted arms fingers legs and stuff in his body and yoy fight a collossal amalgamation of bodies, that's why he's called Godrick "The Grafted" and his OST mirror it amazingly

There is way more where that came from in their catalogue.
Also funny where you mentioned "this is where it must get intense"
The boss rips off his arm and grafts the head of a dragon onto the stump which comes alive and starts breathing fire.

I love your reactions to video game music. It is always so nice to see people discover how much amazing music is made for games, as for a long time it felt underappreciated. Now we finally have whole concerts dedicated to game music, and their own awards. Very glad to see game music getting more recognition!
The Elden Ring soundtrack has a lot of impressive songs on it.

If you're doing Soulsborne OSTs, you definitely need to check Ludwig the Accursed / the Holy Blade, Gehrman the First Hunter and The Cleric Beast from Bloodborne.

PS: did you spot the Mussorgsky reference in Godrick the Grafted?

What I love about this piece is the contrast between phases: the fight starts as a bit of a pompous, sinister waltz. Then that phase transition hits, the fire comes in, and the rest is much more frantic, much less dancey. The music captures this really well.

Oh heck yes! Elden Rings OST is one of the best in gaming. The Final Battle track is incredible, and theres also some from the DLC that just came out a couple of months ago that are incredible, namely Midra of the Frenzied Flame, and Consort Radahn. Starscourge Radahn is also good from the base game.
