Browder was once the largest foreign investor in Russia. When he discovered massive stealing going on in the companies he owned shares in, he decided to do something about it – by following the money and sharing his discoveries of corruption with the international media. Bill Browder is the CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital Management, and author of Red Notice – his work has resulted in the "Global Magnitsky Bill”, which imposes visa bans and asset freezes on individual human rights abusers.

Well that wasn't so apparent in early years of Putin's reign, nowadays it's apparent, he even passed laws to allow him more power after his 2nd term ends, then he introduced laws to grant him possibilty of a 3rd term after 2024.

directed by long-time Putin critic Andrei Nekrasov about the arrest and 2009
death in a Moscow prison cell, after 11 months in police custody, of
37-year-old Russian tax accountant Sergei Magnitsky. Magnitsky worked for
William Browder, the American-born CEO and co-founder of Hermitage Capital
Management, an investment fund that was once the largest foreign portfolio
investor in Russia. Working with Browder on the film, Nekrasov's original
intention was to expose the corruption and complicity of arresting police and
the Russian State in a tax scam and Magnitsky's death. As filming progressed,
discrepancies and inconsistencies in the Browder narrative were so blatant that
the film became an expose of Browder's deception.

Follow the money applies to Mr. Browder and Mr. Khodorkovsky too. Interesting where that money trails leads.

Funny watching this, after seeing "Bill Browder April 15, 2015 Deposition", where, subpoenaed and under oath, he "can't remember" most things or "doesn't know" who provided him with any of the information. As if watching two different Bill Browders. Very funny!
