Putting Together a New Small Church Stage Design

What do you think of our new stage design? 🤔

The cross is 12" wide. And we just hung the panels to be level and give as close to an even positioning between one another as possible.

That looks so dope! I do like a darker setup during worship but I definitely need the lights to read and take notes during service.

That backdrop is sick, love the negative space cross. Personally, I don't mind having the sanctuary dark - and most churches that I've been a part of have kept the house lights off during worship (and then usually it's a little brighter for the rest of the service)

Looks great Joshua. I'm a big fan of using negative space creatively. I missed the poll but we have lights down for worship and up for preaching.

The negative space cross looks great man. I actually couldn't tell you if our house lights are on or off during the singing, we have a good bit of natural light from the windows.

And our lights don’t have a switch or a dimmer… it’s all controlled by a panel in the hallway 🤦🏼‍♂️ makes it harder to change mid service

Saw the same article the other day I think.... We dim the lights during worship to remove distractions, hoping people aren't looking around and getting distracted if they are the only ones singing or not... sitting in the back for years and seeing everything from the sound booth, people are all over the place. We bring them up during the message to read and take notes.

definitely like the design. That dark wall and white anything you put up there gives you plenty of options for sure. Where did you get the sound panels? I am in the middle of making a bunch for our sanctuary, getting close to finishing them up to get the rest on the walls. I saw the post on your story the other day and thought they were ceiling tiles to start with. look good either way though.

Nice work! Has anyone pushed back on you calling it a "stage"?

If I have the lights off in my office my secretary will always say something about hiding in the darkness or doing something sinister (even though there's plenty of light coming in from the windows).
