Thanks. My aunt took off my dog's collar in the morning before leaving for work, probably so Shanty could get some comfort after having it all night, but instead of just loosening the bandage fabric to pull the collar, she just undid the whole thing 😒 so much for helping.

Wow, many thanks! My dog wore one home after being neutered but they tied it with guaze. Now months later he has a small round sore on his bum and I needed to put it back on to prevent him from licking it with the vetericyn + on it.

I had a difficult time assembling it properly and didn't know about using his own collar. You made this so easy for me. I tried to use a shoestring while trying to figure how to close the plastic tabs properly . My pup was like "what the heck are you doing?" He escaped of course. 🤭😁. He actually likes wearing it for now especially since his movements are not restricted like when he was first introduced to it. 🥰

I couldn't find a collar that was the right size for my cat, and he imitated Houdini repeatedly when I used a roll of gauze to tie the cone in place because the gauze stretches. I had the most luck using hem tape or bias tape, products used in sewing. You can find them at a fabric or craft store. It's soft but not very stretchy. I had to tie a double knot, however, because he was able to spin the cone around and then use his paws to untie it.

For those of you using gauze instead of a regular collar with this, you need to tie a bow-knot with gauze that allows you to slip a couple of fingers in underneath - no more, no less - after it is tied. Make sure they aren't tensed up too much when you're doing it, otherwise it'll be too loose, which risks injury to the animal. Obviously, you need to supervise for at least a few hours if not a full day after "installing" this on your pet. Best of luck to you all - I for one found this video super helpful after taking a collar off to clean and then being unsure about the proper way to put it back on!
