I'm a bedrock player and there are a few reasons I don't hate on the market place (I haven't spent any money, but that doesn't mean it's bad)
1: The market place is the only way to get mods/skins/maps easily on console.
2: There are some free things on the market place.
3: Getting marketplace content does not leave you at risk to download a virus
4: The marketplace providedes a decent place for creators to get a bit of extra cash.
5: There are ways to download maps and skins from the internet on BE, I have used both. Im not sure about mods, since they don't interest me, but you may be able to get mods from the internet aswell.

Fun Fact: U don't need to use the Marketplace in Bedrock Edition, like Java it can get mods from websites for free, thats why I NEVER used the Marketplace in bedrock

The one thing the bedrock avatar store has that third party skins dont have is slanted pixel displays and animated shirts, pants, hats, etc

As a bedrock and java player i have to say that you can use resource packs and behaviour packs and turn on expirements to add mods without using any mod loader like fabric or forge, its honestly alot easier to add mods plus you can use mods on school computer witg bedrock but java is alot harder to get and mod, dince modloaders require permission and stuff
