Blackbird 4K Drone Scam, Explained

So I’m looking around on Facebook and I find this brand new profile, not a page but a profile, created about six days ago, named Blackbird 4K Drone with no reviews which is what Google users were looking around for with the word scam. It has one follower. The picture shows what looks like “Emotion Drone.” One of the posts has a link. I verified the link was safe with IP Quality Score’s malicious URL scanner and clicked it.

The page I landed on mentioned nothing about Blackbird 4K Drone which didn’t help reassure me that this wasn’t a scam. It took me to something called DronePro 4K. Not the same thing.

The Facebook post about the Blackbird 4K Drone mentioned something about the U.K., but the website it landed on had a terms and conditions page that said it was “governed under the laws of the Republic of Latvia,” which was unexpected, to say the least.

My opinion, my personal recommendation… I would shop elsewhere.

Separate from this, if you did fall for any scam out there and you’re worried that you gave the scammers too much of your information, call your bank or credit card company and ask them what steps you can take to secure your account, just as a precaution. Also, if you gave the scammers any access to your Paypal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or any other account like that, contact the company and secure your account. Enable two-factor authentication. Search Google for how to do that. Take extra measures to ensure the scammers can’t get in.

I hope you got something out of this video. I’m making all of these videos on my own time on nights and weekends to help people. I bought two of these. They arrived today. 3/9/23. Neither of them will charge. The battery light goes on while charging then goes off. On off on off then you go to use it Ana it only flys for 5 minutes and the battery is dead! I called them and they kept offering me discount after discount just to get me to keep them. Then they told me to mail them back at my own cost if I don’t want them. So they mail you drones that don’t work, try to discount them to try and get you to keep something that doesn’t work. It’s ridiculous!!!! Also, they come with no instructions! No videos on how to set them up or fly them! All in all for 70+ dollars per drone it’s a complete waste of money! DO NOT BUY THESE DRONES! Also, FYI a once they get enough people to complain about the blackbird drone, they will just start selling it under a different name and scam more people. I disputed the charge on my CC because I’m not paying $20 to mail back something that doesn’t even work and arrived broken!! DO NOT BUY THE BLACKBIRD 4K

the add for this video was for Quadair drone, which has the exact same advertising including wording and pictures from the blackbird 4k drone

I bought the Blackbird 4K on another site and it arrived quickly. However there are almost zero instructions on how to use it, and zero customer support. In my case my phone can’t see the Wifi signal. It’s not even clear how to install the batteries. I feel like I’ve been SCAMMED.

Oh also their app had a registration pop up that I tapped on that required my credit card number to complete, even though the cost was $0.00. It said my card was invalid, but later that day I saw a $2.99 charge appear. So be VERY CAREFUL!

thank you so much! I really want a drone and knew this was too good to be true. I will just stick to my known source where I buy all my camera gear - B&H Photo. It's more expensive but in the end, I won't have to worry about being scammed

I just got a text from my ex girlfriend to order 2 for presents. I knew it was a scam as soon as I looked at the link. Thanks for posting this as it showed up on Google search! Been flying RC since 1974. You name it I have built and flown it. Been into quads to include DJI for several years. I know what this stuff costs. I guess I over paid for my Air 2S..Lol!

I believe my husband got scammed. He recently purchased four of the drones believing the description of the drones where good. Black bird 4k created a shipping label to have you believe that they are shipping your items. That is not happening. I guess I have to do the necessary steps in trying to find out if his bank account deducted the cost of the drones or any other money.
