Today, I get to work on my 2008 Honda Civic Type R, one of the most misunderstood cars ever released. It's a UK/Europe-only car that we never got in the states, and has an amazing 2.0 4-cylinder engine that makes more than 200 horsepower. It also looks like a spaceship, which is the coolest thing on Earth. But for some reason, no one in the UK likes it.

It was used in the cheap hot hatch challenge between myself, @AutoalexCars , and @MatArmstrongbmx and signed by @BenCollinsDrives himself, the former Stig of Top Gear.

Freddie I used to work in the Engine plant at HUM Honda “Swindon” normally the only colours were Red, white, black and silver.
The colour on that car is what we called Pepsi max or Coke colour.

Brings back so many happy memories! I had a 2008 DBP (Deep Bronze Pearl) Civic Type-R GT. Swapped it for the Mugen 200 in 2011 and then went down the Ford Focus RS Mk.2 route. Happy days / very happy motoring.

There should be a follow up short just to mention how much the insurance quotes will have been, because for an 18 yr old to get insured on a Tyre R it'll be Many Thousands per year, every year

The only people I've ever heard say that the FN2 type R is hated, are car reviewers/journalists and people on Instagram who pretty much hates anything that isn't crazy expensive.
In reality, its very loved, even outside the Honda community.
