Just bought a 75 nova for use as a daily driver. Solid, dependable, no electronics. Can't be beat.

I had a 1975 Nova in high school. Mine was the most upscale model you could get for the time. It was called the Nova LN which stood for "Luxury Nova". Cloth bucket seats, center console w/floor shift, cloth door inserts, air conditioning, power locks, rear window defogger and a 350 cubic inch V8 are just a few things the LN Nova came with.

This is one of the rare times I've ever seen a low-end version being featured in a commercial.

Love the closing tagline, "looking better all the time." Reminds me of Eugene Levy's "You think you hate it now, but wait'll you drive it!" car sales pitch.

It's hard to believe there was a time in America there was a market for simple, economical vehicles.

As a teenager at the time, and a huge fan of the 1968-1974 Nova, I was very disappointed to see that commercial. But not nearly as disappointed as when I saw the 1980 Citation commercials.

My dad had a Chevy Nova. It was that chevy Orange/Red color with a tan interior. Pretty basic 6cylinder car and 2x60 air conditioning. Also had the "sport" wheels. I cried when they bought the 83 Cavalier. What a problem child that turned out to be.

I had a 76 red on red with a 305 and towing package. Couldn't bury that 100mph speedometer but it got to 98 quicker than a lot of cars, didn't lose to many races.

this was during the peak of the OAPEC crisis where entry level compacts were produced en masse and my late mom scored one used in February 1976 4 $2700 cash from tip $$$ earned from Trader Vic's Houston - still have the same car (a 2 door base model originally a 6 with a 3 spd manual - drove it in HS until 1997 when the swapped 350 was totaled out; extensive rust damage with the taillight panel is why it's sitting in my garage

I wish car commercials were still like this. Not the contrived heartstrings bullshit today.

Would love to find a 4 door version of this car with the 6 cylinder still in it.

My local police department had fleet of these, in 1976-77, I was in high school. The next few years would bring the Plymouth gran fury models. We could always pick them out because they were Navy blue 4 doors with black out tires!

Basically a four-door Camaro; this is the base-base model but you could go full Brougham with a '75 LN or '76-7 Concours until they cut the top line off for '78 to make way for the downsized Malibu. I suspect most cars ordered to dealer stock had the full wheel covers, white stripe tires and side moldings, and the standard interior had that nasty molded-pattern vinyl but the cloth option was a nice plaid and cheap (maybe even no extra cost?) so that was the way to go.
