If you try and kindly explain to someone there is a cheaper, easier way to order a drink and they are rude about it or choose to ignore you...they are getting charged for the more expensive drink. Which is 100% the strawberry acai with lemonade.

As an ex barista(not at Starbucks), I’ve had many, many times people order like this! Lots of them are just straight up rude, so I decide to bring up their order as it is instead of telling them how to save money! Sometimes they were nice and just confused, I would happily tell them how to save money with their orders! Be nice to your barista, because they can EASILY give you free modification if they want too

I did this once... I ordered a drink with a substitution, and the barista just kinda looked at me for a moment, then told me that there was another drink of that description already.

It was awkward but ultimately I got what I wanted and it was fine. She looked a little amused, really. But at least I didn't argue it. Just took her recommendation and left.

I had a regular that i tried to explain a very similar situation. She was very rude about it. Whenever she would come in everyone else would ring it in the cheaper easier way and just not mention it. Im petty as hell and rang in EXACTLY what she ordered every time. Cost about an extra 2 dollars a day.

i moved from a more working class part of LA to “the valley” and omg ALLLL the customers here are like this it was such a culture shock. people pull up and shout “HELLO??” before the ding even goes off on the headsets 😭 the same ones who refuse to even look at you when they hold their apple pay out the window

My high school boyfriend would order a cheeseburger with no cheese and dry, no ketchup, nothing. Just a patty and bun. I tried to clarify once and ask him if he knew he wanted a hamburger and not a CHEESEburger. Argument ensued. Wtf dude. They’d charge him for the full cheeseburger anyways, too.

Okay, I don't go to Starbucks, so I had to do some research to discover that my suspicion of the strawberry acai lemonade costing more than the black tea with lemonade was absolutely correct.
She is ordering the "strawberry acai lemonade". Charge her accordingly for her stupidity. No price break for her.
