I feel the M2 is the spiritual successor of the E46 M3. It weighs similarly, has a similar amount of horsepower, doesn't emphasize straight line speed but makes cornering speed and general quickness on a circuit-like road the priority.

Bought a 2017 Alpine white M2 in DCT in April. I've had Corvettes, 5.0 Mustangs ( including a 2016 manual), Dodge SRTs and Mercedes. The M2 is the best car I've ever owned.

Mine is bone stock and I'm usually getting between 19 and 21 mpg with mostly town driving.

An ECU tune of most to nearly all kinds will remove the speed limiter built in to the car. This is what allowed you to surpass 155MPH, not a "Euro only" package that was not only unmentioned on the sticker, but also incomplete as far as the package itself goes. BMW gets a bad reputation not because of their cars, but rather the people who drive them...
