Thanos Stavridis & Drom - 7. Poustseno

Показать описание
One of the most popular dances in the Florina region, Poustseno follows a 16/8 rhythmic pattern (2+2+2+3+2+2+3). It is also played and danced with the same rhythm in the Albanian villages around the Prespa Lakes, as well as in villages of North Macedonia, where it is known as Berance oro and follows a 12/8 rhythmic pattern (3+2+2+3+2). The dance takes its name from the word "poustsa," which translates as “something tied that is then released or untied,” hence the Greek interpretation of the dance’s name as "Lytos" (loosening or released). In this particular performance, a selection of beloved instrumental and improvisational melodies created by the band can be heard.
