The most widespread dance throughout Macedonia, as well as in Greece and the Balkans, performed in a 7/8 rhythmic pattern (3+2+2).

In this particular performance, melodies that are very beloved in the Florina region, where Vassilis Athanasiou comes from, can be heard. The piece starts with a small improvisational melody, a tradition also common throughout the Balkans, with various regional names. Some examples include: "izgia" in the Florina area, "gaité" in Aridaia, "gouvana" in Episkopi and the plains of Naousa, "subeti" or "noubeti" in Epirus, and "bavno" in Bulgaria, among others.

The first melody heard is "staro čunovo oro", also known as "veleško", which possibly indicates the origin of this melody from the Veles region. This is followed by another popular melody, "Raspukala Šar planina" or "Se navali Šar planina". It was first released in 1976 with the voice of the legend Aleksandar Sarievski on PTP and again in 1979 with the voice of Petranka Kostadinova from RTV Ljubljana. The song refers to the Šar Planina mountain, where there were mines worked by laborers from the surrounding areas. The story of the song tells that the mountain cracked and fell, trapping three shepherds, who then beg the mountain to spare them. "I have a wife, and she will mourn me," said the first. "I have a sister, and she will mourn me," said the second. "I have a mother, and she will mourn me," said the third. And the mountain responded, "The wife will mourn for six weeks, the sister for a year, and the mother forever."
