In this tutorial video I will show you how to create faded and / or worn text on 3D models. This will be accomplished by means of layer masks in Photoshop combined with things such as normal maps, specular maps etc.

Hi Mike,

Sorry it's for posting here. I'm not sure if you would reply if I were to post on an older video but I have a few questions:

I'm making a sci-fi car at the moment, and I keep having a gap between the windshield and the metal borders when using viewport 2.0 (pressing 3). Is expanding the windshield the only way to fix it?

Also, I've been using it for a while but what exactly is 3? Can you smooth the model even more?

And finally, how would you texture a very complex object like a car? Should you combine mesh them all? How do you keep certain objects sharp while others rounded?

one more question?? if you have square or rectangular object and you want to make a whole right through it or wanna make a whole through any object. perfect circle or not, how would you make that. :>
