This is why I'm on the GM mode practicing my combat landings now I've finally set up my hotas - the hardest part for me is navigating as the compass is tiny in the Huey

I’m a new player, and I’ve been practicing in game master, and I’ve got a question for the really good heli pilots. Do yall think it benefits me setting up huge firefights, then transporting troops into battle to kind of get a realism feel? Or am I just doing too much? Also it’s crazy how similar the flying feels to bf4

I find it hard to even learn to fly because every time you try to fly people are like get out of the chopper or I get shot as soon as I sit on one

Honestly fly any chance you get dont be afraid to have other people onboard if you cant control it hit the autohover let it balance out and try again yeah you might get reemed for a few wrecks but it will help you learn fast and keep calm under stressful situations like i always tell people if you cant do any fancy flying thats okay just get rhe bird up and down in one piece and thats all youll ever need. Once you're comfortable with that you can start trying rhe fancey stuff

I once transported troops with a helicopter once. Have experience flying in battlefield so i had a little boost when it came to learning how to fly plus i used gamemaster to actually learn. I did good and got a squad around from point A all the way yo point D when i finally brook my main rotor trying to land behind cover too close to trees. The helicopter landed safely and me and the squad took the base but not without losing a couple of guys and a few others getting lost. It felt like a actual movie with how things went down. The others didn't get lost because they were stupid, they got lost because the entense firefight drove them back enough to to retreat to a far away area

Just worked up to piloting finally and im addicted all i do is run troops and supplies now. Ita a bit daunting at first but its all about learning the inertia of the helicopter and once you can get a feel for how far to tilt one way or the other its quite simple just takes practice.

Arma devs are so bad they add heli and jets etc, but don't add hotas support.
