This is not a good change, it's a GREAT change!
I hop off my BMW1300GS and hop on this, to see if these "Road" changes are keeping up with the benchmark.

As a BMW GSA fan, I do think the African Twin has one of the best Adventure bike looks on the road"

5-6 lbs is insignificant except on some manufacturers bag sheet. Heck, most riders could stand to lose 5-10 lbs with good diet and exercise. Problem solved and you're healthier for it.

As someone with a 29 inch inseam, this bike gives me hope with the seat height options. I do wish it was a little lighter. But, I’ll just have to give it a test ride! Great review. Thank you!

For the difference of 14lbs between the R 1300 GS and the Africa Twin Adv Sports ES I would take the weight penalty to get the extra 110km of fuel range any day of the week.

Excellent review. Im trading my 2023 GS Rallye Low for the Africa Twin ES DCT, hopefully next month. I test rode the BMW GS1300 and although it was somewhat slightly better than my 23, the price is now out of my league. its near 30K or over 30K depending on model in the USA. Bye, bye, BMW. Cant wait for my Honda.

Great reviews Scott ! I'm trying to hang on until the BMW 1300-1400 GSA debuts in the fall, choices are getting more difficult now between the GS 1300 & the 2024 African Twin. 😁

Thank you for the great review, you answer a lot of questions for many of us I am sure . I would like this, more street focused bike with the smaller wheels but in a slightly smaller package, and I know there are more options out there, but I still haven’t seen one that really stands out from the others. Someone did an article on the Tiger 900 Road focused version of their adventure bike said it was really nice but I think it’s high priced ..thanks again

Very nice loving the 19” front and reduced ride height. I decided against buying one a few years ago as I felt uncomfortable being barely able to get my feet down. The DCT is awesome however not for everyone albeit I’m sure once the novelty wears off most are ridden in D as a twist and go rather than playing around with paddle shift same as in a Car.

Thanks very much for your detailed and comprehensive review (as usual). I switched over the ATAS 2024 DCT 2 months ago, coming from three years of GS 1250 (standard) ans a few more BMWs in the last 20 years. What thrilled me was the DCT option mainly. I have to admit that from the pure "technical" point of view I'm very satisfied with my choice. At the same time I think the "driving feeling" of the GS is more solid and refined, like it is in a different category from the ATAS. We'll see in the next few months if the Honda is 100% convincing me. Best 🤞👍👍

It’s fun to just look at. It’s the best looking adv bike year after year

Great ride through ! Having an impaired left hand from birth i was looking for something along the lines of the Africa twin now I’m approaching 61. Hopefully i’ll get a test ride when i’m back in Thailand.. The clip on the video made me chuckle when the car was about to reverse and you said thx to yourself
( I do that ) 🤣

I am looking for a touring bike for my wife and me. Looking at the 2024 for doing 2 to 3 day trips. I have been looking also at the Multistrada (yes, a different level of bike) but this one is looking like a serious contender. We also like Honda so this one looks promising. Great video.

You can shift in a DCT bike with your left foot as usual. If you spec it that way.

No way, not even my 2012-GS would make the change here. Just came home from a wonderfull “First-may-drive” with my wife. Perfect 👌🏻, even offroad in France/ some TET sections can be done, weight: 230 kg, cost: 7.600 € ❤💪🏻😍👍🏻 GS forever
