Probably a good idea. The F35 is a good plane but it's incredibly expensive and I always worry that it's stealth is not as good as reported and there are good counter measures available to defeat the stealth. Better to go with a far cheaper chinese plane.

UAE should work on joint cooperation for assembling of MRCA or Stealth Attack Aircraft with China & Russia to enhance the technological capabilities instead of just procurement. While cooperation Turkie & S.Korea could also work with UAE to create an Aircraft the can be produced domestically.

Reminds me of US' nuclear submarine deal with Australia. The US govt literally made the Australian govt paid for nothing. Seriously, the US govt was like "I sold you the nuclear submarine but I still own it." It seems like the US corporates and its govt have lost all business sense. Imagine a game console dealer selling you a PS5 but dictates that you can only play it on weekends, 7pm to 10pm and only play games that are non-violent. On top that, the dealer can re-possess the console anytime for whatever reason and you have to pay 50% more than normal price. This is what the US govt is doing. No wonder UAE patronize another shop.
