Jesus in describing hell, “It's better to go into life maimed, rather than having two hands to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched, where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.” The worm never dies signifies an ongoing, unending torment. Hell is going to be so unbearable for those who go there because it will be filled with people who were given the opportunity to repent and follow Jesus and they turned their backs on the truth. They will know they are at fault for rejecting Jesus in their hearts. I cant imagine the pain of that eternally.
