One thing that I have learned and have noticed from the developers is that many times the players finish the games quickly and we ask them to release the sequel, but they forget that they are also people and even if some of us don't like it, we must be patient with the development. After all, development time is not the same as time to play the chapter.

I wouldn't be surprised if its ANOTHER 1 1/2-2 years. If they said there 'full steam ahead' im betting the story is already made and all the lore and endings. Now that we lost some very important employees, we will definitely get held back from the game. ESPECIALLY THAT THE DIRECTORS LEFT. So yea, maybe 2025-2026.

If Poppy Playtime Ch.3 took 8 months in development to make (Keep in mind the gameplay the first time takes 3+ hours to beat. If done in speed run, about an hour) so Ch.4 would be about the same timing or even less, considering Ch.3 (according to the devs) was one of the biggest and most important chapters.

I think it's pretty damn believable to assume that Zach B has been abusing his employees. The man's history with running EnchantedMob and his previous controversies outside of Poppy Playtime make it really hard for me to think that the workers leaving these reviews are lying.

I see this happen with a lot of companies though, they start off decent, and whatever they have is incredibly successful, and then the leadership turns into stuck-up, can't tell them anything, psychos... The co-workers normally aren't the problem... It's the management... If they were directors of the games, then I will doubt the success of the next few chapters... Chapter 4 might go off of what the original directors wanted, but then Chapter 5 might have a completely different direction... I hope that's not the case... But we'll see...

The analogy implies that Huggy plays an important role as a right hand man to the prototype, which is what Vader was to palpatine/the emperor.

Gotta say, aside from huggy sharing relatively important iconography to his given franchise, the analogy implies a lot more than we’ve seen/heard in game. Huggy was just some glorified security system; so far his only interaction with the prototype was to be manipulated into breaking out and going to his old home before capture. But there hasn’t been anything more important than that, he doesn’t seem to be carrying out the prototypes will or laying down the law, he’s not being groomed as an apprentice. As far as we know, he died at the end of chapter 1 in an undignified fashion. Unless he comes back in a future chapter, he seemed pretty disposable.

If anything Catnap feels closer to the anakin/palpatine dynamic, right down to being disfigured, being loyal to his higher up, killing his peers, and reborn into some fucked up suit with breathing problems.

Let me tell you something about entry level devs. They all think things have to be done on their time. A CEO and CFO decides what you do and when you do it.
It would explain the hate people get who tell you what to do, thats called a Job. All Jobs have a Crunch time. Maximum profits is called Business,
8-12 months is REASONABLE for a game this size. You are MOB games not Squaresoft making FF7. Street Fighter Alpha was made in a timeframe you wouldn't believe. I think it was 5 Months.
and that was without an engine to make it, It was from Scratch. The people doing only have to model, shader and lighting the new locations. I have a feeling these people didn't quit, they were asked to step down. Devs dont' work until they have a script and when they get it it's go time. (they can;t start work until they know what the locations are going to be) By the time they get the game the voice lines are already written, the story is set and an Idea for bosses is done. It's time to the faster better talent to step in for parts 4 and 5. If these 2 chapter's hit they can start on a Prequel or Sequel. Money is on the line and for Devs speeds extremely important.
