Όπως αναφέρουν σε ανακοίνωση τους οι Ισραηλινές ένοπλες δυνάμεις, την οποία επικαλείται σε δημοσίευμα της, η ειδησεογραφική ιστοσελίδα The Times of Israel, λόγω του ατυχήματος που συνέβη στις 15 Δεκεμβρίου, σε αεροδρόμιο του Τέξας, όπου κατά τη διάρκεια δοκιμαστικής πτήσης, συνετρίβη ένα μαχητικό αεροσκάφος F-35B και μετά από τη συγκέντρωση των πληροφοριών για το εν λόγω ατύχημα, αποφασίστηκε να καθηλωθούν στο έδαφος 11 Ισραηλινά μαχητικά F-35I, ώστε να ελεγχθούν αν υπάρχει παρόμοιο ζήτημα.
Το Ισραήλ έχει αποκτήσει μέχρι στιγμής 36 F-35Ι, από τα τουλάχιστον 50 που έχει παραγγείλει και που βασίζονται στον σχεδιασμό του F-35A, δηλαδή απογειώνονται και προσγειώνονται με τον γνωστό συμβατικό τρόπο, ενώ το F-35B που συνετρίβη στις ΗΠΑ, είναι καθέτου απογείωσης και προσγείωσης.
Αυτό φυσικά γεννάει ερωτηματικά, για το τι κοινό χαρακτηριστικό, που θα πρέπει να ελεγχθεί, μπορεί να έχουν τα Ισραηλινά αεροσκάφη F-35I Adir, με το F-35B, καθώς επίσης προκύπτει και η απορία, γιατί να ελεγχθούν μόνο τα 11 από τα 36.
«Από τα ευρήματα και τις πληροφορίες που δόθηκαν, διαπιστώθηκε ότι αυτά τα αεροσκάφη απαιτούν ειδική επιθεώρηση, προκειμένου να αποκλειστεί η πιθανότητα επαναλαμβανόμενης δυσλειτουργίας στην ισραηλινή σειρά», ανέφεραν οι ισραηλινές ένοπλες δυνάμεις, για τις οποίες τα μαχητικά αεροσκάφη F-35, αποτελούν πλέον ένα από τα βασικότερα όπλα που έχουν στην φαρέτρα τους και που αναμένεται να κινηθούν με γοργούς ρυθμούς, ώστε αυτά τα 11 αεροσκάφη, να επανέλθουν τάχιστα σε επιχειρησιακή ετοιμότητα και δραστηριότητα.

As stated in a statement by the Israeli Defense Forces, cited in a report by the news website The Times of Israel, due to the accident that occurred on December 15, at a Texas airport, where during a test flight, an F-35B fighter jet crashed and after gathering information about this accident, it was decided to ground 11 Israeli F-35I fighter jets to be checked if there is a similar issue.
Israel has so far acquired 36 F-35I, out of at least 50 it has ordered, which are based on the F-35A design, meaning they take off and land in the familiar conventional way, while the F-35B that crashed in the US is of vertical take off and landing.
This of course raises questions, about what common characteristic, which should be checked, can the Israeli F-35I Adir aircraft have with the F-35B, as well as the question arises, why only 11 of the 36 should be checked .
"From the findings and the information given, it was found that these planes require a dedicated inspection in order to rule out the possibility of a repeated malfunction in the Israeli array" said the Israeli Defense Forces, for which the F-35 fighter jets are now one of the main weapons they have in their arsenal and which are expected to move at a rapid pace, so that these 11 aircraft to quickly return to operational readiness and activity.
