As late as April 2017, still, one can only natively burn DVD discs when logged in with the built-in "Administrator" account. Which while odd, is supposedly a security feature; but it can waste one's time if one goes to burn a DVD and not know that it can be done only through the Administrator account natively.

There are two work-arounds:

1. switch accounts to the "Administrator" account when you want to burn CD/DVDs.

2. install a 3rd-party DVD software package on your regular account.

Mess around with gpedit.msc all you want, no one has figured out how to turn off this 'feature' yet, AFAICT.

Windows Search, BTW, has to be enabled in Services. By default it is OFF. When it is off, the results are very basic e.g. a search for Notepad will get a result, but nothing from your Documents will show up. For Windows Server to return results of one's files and folders etc. you have to enable Search through Services.

The production versions (RTM), not beta, of Windows Server 2016 with the Desktop installed does *not* have Cortana. It does not have Edge. And best of all, it does not have Store. Windows Search makes up for Cortana' search function, but if you want to use something other than the built-in Internet Explorer, you will have to go with a non-Microsoft solution such as Vivaldi, Chrome or Firefox.

There is also one small issue, still there as of April 2017: if you install an English language pack e.g. UK English, the Personalize screen gets messed up. It's *better to just use the U.S. version if you use English* and, in Control Panel, only set your Region to U.K. or Canada or whatever.

Windows Server is excellent as a Desktop, the Cortana snitch is not installed, no Store to annoy you with blinking 'apps', it DOES have DX12 for the upcoming games that use DX12, it's *very fast*, more secure, less chatty, and it's pretty and works very well. Moreover, it is feature rich, there's all manner of stuff you can install and enable.

I use it and am glad to have the positive benefits of Windows 10 without the negative stuff.
