This is what most of my days look like here in the mountain hut. Cooking food, keeping warm and working on my computer!

If you get your cabin to 49C sometimes and burn through 4 pellet logs I'm convinced you're over-using them. Cut them in half or even thirds and burn them more evenly instead of chucking in one entire log each time. Will make for way less fluctuation and wasted heat!

When you have a 100% electric house (heating, hot water, cooking and all the rest), you definitely know how much fuel you're using because you keep a VERY close eye on the smart meter! Looks amazing up there, must be so peaceful. Would be cool to know what trail cam you're using, my wife has one to keep tabs on our hedgehog population and it eats batteries for fun.

It’s more efficient to scoop water from a small jug than a running shower head. Wet yourself, lather up, rinse. I spent a few years in Kenya with my Land Rover. A jug wash was best. Great video 👍🏻

I think the air there must have a healthy effect.

Great video!! But have you tried keeping the temperature down during the day and only raising it up in the evening? I think it would be much more fuel efficient!

Good on you for doing this. Doing things outside your comfort zone is amazing. More people should do this, and I bet quite a lot would come to love it

Hi Alex, if you don’t have a coffee press you can make the coffee in a pot and filter it by cracking an egg into it. The egg will act as a filter and collect all the coffee grinds. It works and is a fun backwoods trick. I’m pretty sure it’s called a Norwegian or Scandinavian coffee depending on who you ask. Hope it helps you not just now but in the future too ☕️😊

YouTube binges are few and far between for me these days Alex. Your channel is alway the first choice! There’s just something peaceful/joyful about watching the way you live your life, keep it up mate.

Oh and by the way, if you put all the pots on the stove filled with water, they will heat up and radiate the heat back out slowly. That'll help regulate the temperature and you'll use less fuel too 👍

That was very professionally done Alex or at least that is my opinion, as loneliness in a remote cabin can become a barrier to man's well being but you seem to be copying. Prost!
