Ethics, bogus gurus, and all that aside, we decided to answer the question:

"Is it possible to make $10k, $20k, or even $40k/month as a freelance copywriter?"

The answer will surprise you (as much as we hate to admit it).

We've seen comments here and elsewhere along the lines of "such and such copywriter's agency makes $80 bajillion per minute--of course this is possible for you!"

The key point we make in the video is that, to scale up to that amount of money, these individual writers have to scale up as a business.

These copy gurus only share their gross revenue per month. But as a business, they're also paying out salaries, invoices, and other business expenses. That makes any big $$$ number highly misleading for people just starting out who don't understand that nuance.

Next time you see a copywriter promise a high income, ask: Is this gross or net? What is the guru taking for themselves after all expenses are paid?

It is entirely possible that these businesses are generating big money... but are still unprofitable!
