She could take out a home equity loan for the amount of savings required, deposit it in a savings account for a year, pay the interest on the loan. Get the residency approved based on savings, then pay off the line of credit.

One thing sally could to is transfer het savings into a new bank account (the one she is going to show the mexican government) on a monthly basis. She has $20k, so that's $3333.33 per month. She could also have her SS going into the same account. If she only had $3500, she could withdraw cash weekly, convert it to a postal money order and redeposit making it look like income. I am not a financial planner, my comments are for entertainment purposes only.

Good thinking. She can sell her house for over 300k, and stick it in a high yield interest account, too. As long as she has the 300k amount in savings is all it takes she can become a permanent resident.

This channel is gold, I have zero idea what it takes to move to Mexico, just absorbing everything I can before I move one day. Thanks for the tips

Thanks for the info - I was wondering about this very thing, thought of starting a 'business' mainly to pay myself LOL I think I'm good anyway but pretty close to the edge as limits keep increasing.

PayPal does not process eBay payments anymore. Ebay processes the payments directly and deposits the money into your account.

When I first applied for residency at the Consulate in Toronto they told me that the proof of income was to prove that you could support yourself living in Mexico. As you show in this video falsifying your actual ongoing income just makes no sense. Saver Sally will have zippo to sell In Mexico so her income does not qualify. She could also have just transferred amounts every month from her savings. Again, not ongoing income. When I first applied back in 2017 my pensions fell just short but thanks to the GST tax rebate deposits I did squeak through. As much as I would love to live out my life in Mexico the income requirements have now doubled so Mexico doesn't want anymore Canadian pensioners. Our measly pensions that leave us below the current poverty level, let alone with food costs inflation, went up .01%, yes, that's point one percent, not doubled. Mexico used to be the number one country to retire in. Not anymore.

Jordan, thank you for this video. For a while, I’ve been wondering whether the Mexican consulate would be okay with my income, which can only be earned in the United States, not in Mexico. Seems like as long as my monthly deposits are big enough, they won’t care otherwise.

Buying things you can sell for more to meet the spending requirement for a credit card bonus is genius

If you move to Mexico with a very low income, just don’t try to live a homeless lifestyle. In Mexico we don’t welcome tent ⛺️ cities, like in the United States.

I tried doing something very similar-but the Orlando consulent turned me down-they wanted proof from Schwab of length and total of balance. I met the $3000.00. It was still a no go.

I am having a crazy difficult time contacting the consulates in my area. Their link for appointments- page not found. The phone number they both give lets you select english but routes you to a message in Spanish that plays over and over and over. I will have to consulate shop and fly somewhere. OY!

QUESTION: Are you saying they don't actually look at the description for the deposit, but only the amount?
So, if I had 3 different bank accounts, and just transferred the money around...it could show $3, 500 in money flowing in & out every month...and that would qualify??

Read another account . . . absolutely the case that since she owns her home, she can take out equity from her home and meet the savings requirement, currently at $50, 000, based upon turning her home equity into cash. She is selling her house anyway to move to Mexico . . . her home equity loan will clear entirely when she sells her house, no trouble to her. : )

You need to have a video about the new way to get a visitor visa with no financials needed! All you need is an expired FMM for a program started during COVID. I went to immigration and have my interview today for temporary residency for 4 years, no renewal. Then automatically turns into permanent in 4 years. No interview at consulate in the US either!

Hi Jordan, I like this idea of yours. This said, the Regularization of Status program is still working and it is By Far the Easiest way to get residency in Mexico currently.
