Photography Hacks - Seamless Infinite Zoom Effect (Macro Room Technique)

Being a fan of MacroRoom, I had to try to recreate the seamless zoom they are using in some of their videos. The easiest way to do so, is to change the focal length of your lens and merge the photos in post production. You can also create an infitnite zoom using this technique by moving the tripod away from your subject.

Hey man, great job! I'm trying to recreate the zoom effect too and as far as my researches goes you're the only one that manage to make it! I'm actually trying to recreate as close as possible the effect that macro room did, trying to have the smooth slow zoom out and feeling that is a video (not the sensation that it might be photo). From my understanding I have to have as much as lenses as possible with a close focal length so that there is no "jump" of focal length... is it right? So I've came up with this setting: af-s nikkor 55-200mm 1.4-5.6g + 2 macro nikon lenses (Nikon AF-S DX 85mm f/3.5G VR Micro + Nikon AF-S DX 40mm f/2.8G Micro maybe) + Speedboster 0, 71x for each lens so that it will reduce the difference of focal length. is that a good idea? if not what would you think would be the best setting for recreating this effect (using lenses that work on the Panasonic GH5 and/or have the Nikon mount)? which set of lenses exactly? I can use a motorized slider from Edelkrone with focus control too.
I know that you might read it everywhere but this is really an important project to me: so if you would answer I would be really really really grateful. Cheers man and great job again for your video and channel.
