Today I want to compare two rugged smartwatch models - Amazfit T-Rex 2 and Garmin Fenix 7. Let's find out together which of the two watches is better, and also talk about the advantages and disadvantages.

Huami has announced a new generation of rugged smartwatches under the Amazfit brand. Amazfit T-Rex 2 received a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and a body weighing 66.5 g (including strap).

According to the manufacturer, the gadget has 15 military protection certificates. The watch can be used in extremely cold weather down to -30°C. Naturally, the body of the novelty is waterproof (up to 100 meters). It has four stainless steel buttons. The strap of the novelty is made of antibacterial silicone material.

The Amazfit T-Rex 2 smartwatch supports five global satellite positioning systems, including Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. In addition, they can track 150 types of workouts, as well as sleep.

The gadget is powered by a 500 mAh battery. It will last for 24 days with normal use and 10 days with intensive use. If you activate the "watch only" mode, then autonomy will increase to 45 days.

Thanks for this review, i been using amazfit trex pro for more than a year already, and its still great, the battery last long, the build quality is amzing for the fact that its my everyday use, and still has no scratches. I like garmin smart watches, but the price it is to high for a watch in my opinion, i am glad that there is a amazfit trex pro smart watch out there for a people looking for good build quality smart watch that is really affordable. Now I am planning to buy the trex 2, again thanks for this review👍👍

Thank you for your review. There is a catch, a GPS device without mapping, track recording capabilities is not of much use for many outdoor needs and some critical outdoor survival needs. Personally I would like to buy the Amazfit but without memory storage to locate myself in a map is useless: Trekking, rock climbing-hiking to get to the rocks, country horseback riding, XC-Skiing, forest archery and hunting, etc, these are all situations where you can get lost and all the apps unrelated to outdoor you may have will be useless. So, there a big market for a smart watch focused only in outdoor location and body performance; hearth rate and oxygen availability in the blood. If you know of watches with this emphasis for less than $500 please let me know.

You should highlight, that the fenix 7 charges yearly extra for the maps. It also can can send alarm messages, but only in special modes, like having a walk, but not going for a mountain hike.

Navigations features are définitely not at the same level. Garmin loads typographiecals maps including altitude datas and therefore supporting rerouting and live path recalculation as well as turn by Turn navigation. 16gb are compulsory to store these maps. So prices are not the same but products neither

I had T-Rex Pro for just over a year. Build quality is OK but the software and the phone app are just garbage.
Gave it away to a 12 year old. Just bought Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar. Now we are talking business.

As a smart watch or sport watch, i would like
to buy a apple watch, maybe apple watch series 8 rugged battery longer for one week.
I think who bought a garmin watch in original price is stupid . T rax is good price for its function, garmin is over priced for its function. If you can handle the price garmin is good one. I like garmin tactix 7 but i don’t think it as value as a rtx 3090, iphone 14pro or ps5 x 2. btw I would buy a tactix 7 when it half price .
