The door that open to the laundry room that you wanted to hang up coats is probably for wet clothes that are delicates to hang dry on that rod. Peace love and blessings always!

That's a nice place. And the outdoor space and laundry area is an added bonus. The music in the video overpowered your voice and was a bit distracting. Are you able to lower it for future videos, so you can be heard more?

I love the front door is set away from the living room. Gives it a homey feeling.

Generally when there is an overhead switch but no overhead light, one of the outlets is wired to the switch so you can still turn on a lamp by the door. A bit of trial and error will tell you which outlet then you can just make sure a lamp uses that outlet.
